01-20-10

Happy 2010, everybody! It's been a while since this site has seen any updates, and we apologize sincerely. We've had a busy fall, including a Southwest "Blinded By The Light" tour to Miami and back and a Northwest "Tourito" up to Portland and back. The winter has been pretty chill for us (get it?! chill? winter??), while we work on writing new material for our next album and work on repairing the van from thousands and thousands of rough touring miles. Unfortunately, due to the high costs of repairing the van, we won't be touring any time in the too near future. Mini-tours are likey in the works though for this spring, summer and fall. In other news, we are now on Twitter @gokartmozart11 so please follow us! Thanks always for your support and keep checking the MySpace for all the latest show additions. It's great to be home and rocking local shows again!

08-20-09

Why, hello there! Our apologies for the lack of updates to this site over the past few months. Things have been relatively calm since we returned home in May. We've had a few local shows here and there, but for the most part we've spent the summer taking care of personal business, and teaching music to kids and adults. In case you or anyone you know is interested in learning from Go Kart Mozart, Vince teaches at Red House Studios in Walnut Creek and Anna teaches at Music Time Academy in Livermore, and at uCamps in the summer. We're happy to make a few big announcements: 1) We have a new awesome bassist, Xavier Guerrero! Xavier has been playing with us since June and we're very excited to be working on new songs and recordings with him. 2) We have a couple tours coming up soon! The next tour is our short (but sweet) "Northwest Tourito" in October, featuring some shows in Oregon. We are also in the middle of booking a Southern tour for this November, which will include shows across the Southern United States, stretching all the way to Miami. 3) We have a couple big artices coming out about us soon, one in the East Bay Express and one in the Concordian - keep a look out for both later this month! 4) We are now on Facebook! Please add our page here. Rock on!

It's good to be back home in ole Concord Rock City! We returned from tour a week ago: 32 shows, 32 days, 24 states - it was a blast! Thanks so much to everyone who came to the shows and helped support us. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces across the country! The tour was in support of our new album, "Atomic! Supersonic! Stereophonic!" which was released on April 10th. In case you missed us at the CD release show at Cue Productions in Concord, or at one of our shows on tour, you can order the album online. Simply click here to do so. We have a few local shows scheduled for the summer, and are planning a mini-tour down to Southern California. Our next regional/national tour is tentatively planned for late Fall, depending on the condition of our tour van. Unfortunately, the van broke down in Olive Branch Mississippi (thanks to Mathis Tire for the help!), and hasn't been running quite the same since. We hope to be up and running and on the road as soon as possible, so keep an eye out here and on MySpace for all the latest updates!

04-06-09

Only 4 more days until the release of our new album! We are very, very excited to not only have the oppertunity to release our 2nd full-length album, but also to kick off a month-long national tour THIS FRIDAY (April 10th) at Cue Productions in Concord Rock City. Can't wait to see everyone there! 7 songs (that's almost 1/2 of the album) are now available for streaming online at www.myspace.com/gokartmozartmusic. If you can't make the tour kick off show, or any of the 30+ shows scheduled on tour, the album will be available for purchase on CD Baby and iTunes. Stay posted for more info and links.

NEW ALBUM "ATOMIC! SUPERSONIC! STEREOPHONIC!" TO BE RELEASED APRIL 10TH! Don't miss the CD release party/tour kick-off show at Cue Productions!! We've been working very hard on this new record for the past 3 months or so, and we cannot even begin to say how excited we are to release it and, of course, to tour in support of it. 3 songs off the new album are now available for streaming on MySpace, so be sure to take a minute to check out our new (and improved!) profile. There are pleanty of local shows and tour dates on the books, so we should be seeing everyone soon. For current show schedule, see the "shows" section of this page, or our calendar on MySpace. I have also just updated all of the lyrics, the discography, and several other sections on this page - take a look around and see what's new!

01-13-09

Happy New Year! We've spent the first couple weeks of 2009 working on our new full-length album. The drum and bass tracks are officially completed, and we'll be moving on to guitar in the next few days. We also have a few local shows currently on the calendar, so please check out the dates/venues and come support us so we can afford to press the new album and, of course, tour again to promote it. Info is posted on the shows section of this page and on our MySpace. In other news, we are currently accepting applications for the position of Go Kart Mozart bassist. Shane and Bobby are no longer in the band, leaving us in search of a brand new Go Kart Mozart-er. Please help us spread the word!

Thanks to everyone who voted for us in the Live 105 Not So Silent Night Local Band Competition! We made it to the "Elite 5" which landed us a sweet spot at a SOLD OUT show last Monday night at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco, plus airplay on Live 105's Soundcheck with Aaron Axelsen. Unfortunately, we did not win the contest (congrats to the winners, Dizzy Balloon from Piedmont). It's been a crazy 2008 here at the Go Kart Mozart factory, and we're looking forward to an even MORE crazy 2009! After 145 shows this year, we're going to take a break for the rest of December and begin working on a new album in the new year. Keep an eye on the show calendar for updates, as we'll be booking locally very soon. Depending on the progress of the new album, tour dates may sheduled for the early Spring as well. Happy holidays!

11-25-08

Go Kart Mozart has made it to the Top 25 (out of 116 entries) in Live 105's Local Band Competition! This is VERY exciting for us because it means we are in the running to play at this year's Not So Silent Night at the OAKLAND ARENA, featuring The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand and Jack's Mannequin! All we need in order to advance to the next round (Top 5 bands) is YOUR VOTE! Voting is easy and only takes a minute. Please help us out and cast your vote for Go Kart Mozart! Here's how to vote:

Greetings from somewhere in West Virginia! We're on day 25 of the "Termina-tour 2." It's been fun so far, despite the fact that we're stuck in the middle of nowhere because our van died on us today. We been updating our MySpace from the road, so go check out our blog and photos for more info on what we've been up to the past few weeks. We have 2 awesome home shows on November 16th and 17th, so please come support us, all you Concord Rock City folk. We still have a couple more weeks on the road, but when we return home we have plans for a new album and local shows. Please keep an eye on our MySpace and on this site for more details about what we are up to. Thanks so much to all the awesome bands we've played with, all the venues who have helped us out, all the people who have come out the shows, and especially to all of you who have let us sleep on their floors/couches! Hopefully our van will get fixed and we'll get on the road again...

09-02-08

Happy day after Labor Day! It's great to be home to good ole Concord Rock City! We came back on Saturday after 18 days and 17 shows on the road. Thanks so much to everyone who helped us out on tour - all the venues we played at, all the bands we played with, all the people who came to the show, all the people who let us crash at their homes, and especially thanks to Ryan who was crazy enough to be our merch guy for this tour. We'll be home for about 5 weeks before hitting the road again in October/November (tour dates to be announced very soon). We are also currently booking local shows for September and early October, so if you would like to book us, please do not hesitate to contact us either on MySpace or at info@gokartmozart.com. We've been playing a whole bunch of new songs at recent shows, and plans for a new album are in the works. New shirts are also coming very soon. Keep checking back here and on the MySpace for details.

05-26-08

Happy Memorial Day! Why is it that I always seem to be updating this page on holidays? I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing day of BBQs and American flags. It was great to be back after a month long break from live shows. We debuted 2 new songs at the Iron Horse show last Friday: "She's a Firecracker" and "Where Do We Go From Here." We'll be playing these songs at all our upcoming shows, so please come check them out! Due to unforseen circumstances, we have inherited a mini-tour from Anna and Shane's other band The Hang. See the "shows" section (or our MySpace profile) for details on a 4 day mini tour down to Atascadero and Santa Maria on June 5-8. We have a ton of shows this summer, including another national tour from August 12 to August 29th (shows to be announced soon). There are plans for a new album in the works, although we are still working on writing since we don't have quite enough material to start recording just yet. Be sure to check out our show at Blake's on Telegraph in Berkeley on June 18th - this is an extra special evening, featuring The Pundits (first show ever!), Say When (a band from Boston that we met in Texas on Easter Sunday), and our little friends Less Than Clever. Don't miss it!

05-11-08

Happy Mother's Day! We love our mothers, and we hope everyone was able to spend some time with mom today to let her know how much you appreciate all she does. It's been a relaxed month for us here at the Go Kart Mozart factory. We've spent the past few weeks rehearsing new material and we are just about ready to debut it at our upcoming local shows - the first of which being May 23rd at the Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon with our good friends from Nashville, Sound and Shape. We are excited to announce that we'll be doing another short national tour this August. Unfortunately, we will not be able to make it out to the east coast since we will only be on the road for about 17 days, but we look forward to some great shows on the West Coast and in the Northwest, Southwest and Midwest. Keep an eye out for tour dates, which should be posted within the next month or so. We can't wait to play our new songs for everyone! Plans for either a new album or EP are in the works - stay tuned for details.

04-03-08

Hello again, friends! Sorry for the lack of updates on this site. Unfortunately, we did not have the means to update this page on the road, so the only tour news/info was on our MySpace. Hopefully everyone found their way to our profile, and kept up with our photos and blogs. If you have not yet, please check us out at www.myspace.com/gokartmozartmusic. There are 200+ photos and 6 blogs, all posted during our HUGE 60 day tour. We had a great time on the road! The trip clocked in at an impressive 14935 miles and 57 shows in 60 days. For more fun facts, see our latest blog on MySpace. Despite all the great people we met and amazing places we saw, there is truly nothing like good ole Concord Rock City! We are thrilled to be home, and we hope to see everyone at our big homecoming show this Saturday night at Cue Productions in Concord (see the shows section of this site for details). Keep an eye out for updates in the press section of this site, as we were in a bunch of papers/journals across the country. Tour was a crazy adventure, and we are very, very thankful of everyone who has (and continues to) support us. We do not have a label, manager, or any other outside help, so everything that we have accomplished was made possible through merch sales and live gigs. Thank you for giving us such an amazing oppertunity! We truly appreciate anyone who has ever come to a show, bought any merch or otherwise supported us. We are nothing without you.

01-29-08

WE LEAVE FOR TOUR IN 3 DAYS! If you haven't already, check out our crazy tour schedule under the "Shows" section on this page or on our MySpace. We are going to play about 55 shows in 38 states this Feb/March. If you live out of state, we hope to see you soon. If you live in CA, we NEED your support at our tour kick off party THIS FRIDAY NIGHT (Feb 1st) at Cue Producitons in Concord. Also playing: The Psychiatric Fortmat Pill, Azrael, Mike Parvizi, Go Lay Down and Twice Til Tuesday. We'll be covering over 13,000 miles this tour, so we need gas money! Please come to the show, buy some merch, and wish us Bon Voyage. In other news, last week we had a nice write up in the Mokena Messenger (Mokena, Illinois). Check it out HERE. We'll be posting tour photos and a blog on our MySpace, so please check back often to see what we are up to. Can't wait to hit the road again! Hope to see everyone on Friday night...

Happy new year! We hope you all had/are having a wonderful holiday season. Although December has been a calm month for us show-wise, we have been very, very busy with other business. If you haven't seen yet, our MySpace has been given a makeover, and is flooded with NEW NATIONAL TOUR DATES! There are 57 upcoming shows currently listed - please try to make at least one. We have lots of local shows in January, and we really need your support in order to afford this 60 day, cross country tour. Be sure to mark February 1st down in your calendar as our HUGE tour kick off extravaganza. Bring extra money for merch, since our new shirts are in. Our next show, January 5th @ Red House in Walnut Creek marks our 1 year anniversary of being a band. Thank you very much for all of your love and support in 2007 - you made so much possible for us. We are proud to say that in just one year we played 79 shows, went on a national tour, recorded and released a full-length album, and received press in four different states! 2007 was awesome, thanks to you, and we look forward to an even better 2008.

11-27-07

Happy birthday to me! Yep, today is Anna's birthday. Be sure to bring her lots of presents next time you see her because she has been working very, very hard to book our HUGE February/March tour. So far we have shows confirmed in over 20 states - and we're only about halfway through booking! We are going to need A LOT of support at our upcoming local shows in order to afford this tour, so please, please, please come to a show and buy some merch. Our next big show is December 7th at Cue Productions in downtown Concord Rock City. We have assembled an awesome line up for the evening, so don't miss out! Our new shirts (with a new design) will be available for purchase at the show as well. Don't forget, all merch is also available for purchase through this website (just email us at info@gokartmozart.com for more info or to place orders). See everyone on December 7th for a rockin' good time at the old hangout, Cue Productions. SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC IN CONCORD ROCK CITY!

10-31-07

Happy Halloween from Go Kart Mozart! Thanks to the Flyover States for letting us play with them at House of Shields in San Francisco last weekend. The city was a crazy place to be on Saturday (being Halloween weekend). The House of Shields show was our first with new guitarist/vocalist Stewart Gude (of Azrael)! Stewart appeared on almost all the tracks on "Oh Yeah" (either singing or playing rhodes) and he has been a good friend to us for years, so we are very excited to have him in the band. Please come to one of our many upcoming shows and welcome him to the Go Kart Mozart bunch! We have also been in the studio recording a ton of covers, so keep an eye out for some new tracks. New shirts (with a new design) will be available at any show or online in about a month. We have also started to book for our HUGE Febrauary/March 2008 tour! If you would like us to come to your town, just email us or message us on MySpace. We can't wait to hit the road again!

10-09-07

It is good to be home! We just returned yesterday after 6,244 miles, 19 shows, 17 days, and 14 states. It was a brutal schedule, but we made it back alive. In fact, we had so much fun that we are planning to go out again in early 2008! Thanks to all the venues who booked us, all the bands that played with us, and (especially) everyone who came to the shows! Also, we'd like to send out an extra-special thanks to our friend Stefani who was crazy enough to go out on the road with us as our merch girl/guitar hero shark. We met a lot of great people on tour - it's so wonderful to have such kind hospitality everywhere we go! To those who helped us out this trip (you know who you are) - thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We have our big "homecoming" show this Saturday at Time Out in Concord. Don't miss it! And finally, we are excited to announce that our music is now available not only at any show and at cdbaby.com, but also on iTunes and snocap. To buy individual tracks through snocap, see the store on our MySpace profile (located directly under the music player). Click here to purchase tracks on iTunes.

09-16-07

We leave for tour in less than one week! I can't even express how excited we are to finally take Go Kart Mozart on the road! We have 19 shows in 17 days, and we will be playing in 14 different states. Check out the full tour schedule on the shows section of this page or on our MySpace profile. DON'T MISS THE HUGE HOMETOWN TOUR KICK-OFF SHOW THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT CUE PRODUCTIONS! We are going to spend a lot of money on gas, so we really need your support to help kick off the tour right! It is going to be an amazing show; there are 5 great local bands playing in addition to us: Dancing With Aspirin, Two Left Feet, The Federalists, Rattlesnakes! and Breaking Custom. Happy belated (September 6th) birthday to Vince! He got an awesome birthday present from the Contra Costa Times. On September 6th, we got a couple photos from the CD release show published in the Concord (ROCK CITY) Transcript. If you missed it in the paper, you can see it online here.

08-28-07

Do you have your copy of "Oh Yeah"? If you haven't yet, be sure to purchase a copy of our new album online at www.cdbaby.com or at ANY show! Don't forget: you'll need the album so you can learn all the songs and sing along at shows. Thanks to our friends who came out to Time Out last weekend. For those of you who are not 21 yet, you have your chance to see Go Kart Mozart THIS SATURDAY at Red House in Walnut Creek. As our big tour nears closer and closer, we really need your support. Please make an effort to come to one of our upcoming shows and buy some merch, like a CD & t-shirt combo for only $15! WOW! Gas is still really expensive, so we are going to need all the help we can get to make this 19-shows-in-17-days, 6000+ mile tour happen. On a different note, congrats to our bassist Shane, who just became an uncle 2 days ago when his sister Cherissa gave birth to Nathan Palmer (7lbs, 15 oz)!

08-15-07

We would like to extend a GIGANTIC thank you to everyone who came to our CD release shows last weekend! Words cannot even express how thankful we are to have friends/family/fans like all of you. The amount of support that everyone has shown (especially last weekend) and continues to show, never ceases to amaze us. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We truly appreciate each and every one of you who has taken the time to come to a show, listen to our music, or even just look at our website. I just cannot say it enough - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! The CD release shows were a huge success, thanks to everyone who came out to support us and all the bands who rocked out with us. We hope everyone got to see Sound&Shape's set. They came on tour all the way from Nashville and they are some of the nicest, coolest, most talented people that we know. If you missed their set, please go check them out on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/soundandshape1. We have received many compliments about the new album - thank you very much for the kind words! If you missed the show, or if you do not live in the area, fear not - we have you covered! For those of you out-of-towners, check the "shows" section of this page to see if we are playing near you this September/October. We are touring for 17 days, through about 14 states, so there is a decent chance we might be playing nearby and you can just pick up a copy of the album (and a t-shirt, of course) at the show. If we are not playing near you, or if you simply can't wait to hear the album, you can order your copy TODAY online at www.cdbaby.com. Don't forget, "Oh Yeah" makes the perfect late graduation or father's day gift...or the perfect early labor day gift!

08-01-07

Only 10 more days! We cannot wait to release our very first full length album!! Words do not even come close to explaining our excitement for this album. The CDs (and matching posters) actually came back from the presses on Monday evening, and they look/sound great. We promise, you will like them. Please come celebrate the album release with us at either the Concord show (at Cue Productions in Concord on August 11th), or the Sonoma show (at the Shop on August 12th). These are our biggest, most important shows to date, and we need your support to make them as amazing as possible. We are also booked for a 17-day tour this fall, so we need everyone to pick up a copy of our album and the latest GKM merch (cds, posters, shirts, buttons, guitar picks, earrings, stickers). Every little bit really does help! Gas prices have gone down a bit, but we still need a lot of finances to afford the tour. If you haven't already, be sure to go by www.myspace.com/gokartmozartmusic and preview 5 (of 13) tracks off the new album. Thanks for the support and we look forward to see EVERYONE at the CD release show next weekend!

07-10-07

T-minus one month until the release of our debut full-length album: "Oh Yeah." We have been working very, very hard on the CD since early April, and we are excited to announce that it is finally finished and off at the presses! There are 5 tracks from the forthcoming CD available for streaming on our MySpace page: www.myspace.com/gokartmozartmusic. Please listen to our new songs and let us know what you think! If you would like to see a track listing for the new album, go to the "discography" section of this page (under the "media" link, then "music"). Not only have we been busy independently recording/producing an album, but we have also been working on independently booking a national tour for this September/October. Tour dates are now posted on the shows section of this page, and on our MySpace. New merch is also in, including gray shirts (w/ black logo), guitar picks (blue, green, and yellow) and earrings (made from guitar picks). "Oh Yeah" posters will be in soon, with the new CDs. As you can see, it is a very busy and exciting time for us at the Go Kart Mozart factory! Please help support us by listening to our new songs, buying some new merch and most importantly - COMING TO ONE OF THE CD RELEASE SHOWS! The official CD release parties are August 10th at Cue Productions in Concord and August 11th at the Shop in Sonoma. See you there!

06-24-07

We had a great "time out" last night (get it?!). Thanks to everyone who came out to support us! Last night's show was one of the final few shows before our CD release. We have finally finished all the tracking for the album, and we are currently in the mixing/mastering stage. The CD will be sent off to the presses soon, just in time for the big release. DON'T FORGET! GO KART MOZART CD RELEASE WEEKEND: AUGUST 10TH (CUE IN CONCORD) AND AUGUST 11TH (THE SHOP IN SONOMA). Please come join us for one (or both) of the CD release shows. We have already began booking a 17-day tour for late September/early October, and we need all the support we can get at our upcoming shows in order for us to be able to afford the tour. Speaking of supporting us, new GKM shirts will be in very soon - get 'em while they're hot! These shirts are charcoal gray with a black logo (see the "Store" section on this page for an image). Sampler tracks from the upcoming album will be available for streaming on our MySpace very soon, so be sure to keep an eye out for those. We cannot even begin to express how excited we are about this album. We have worked very, very hard on it over the past few months and we can't wait to share it with all of you!

06-09-07

Thanks so much to everyone at the Jungle in Palo Alto (the Music for a Cure people, the staff at the Jungle, the other bands, and all who came out for the show) for making last night an amazing evening! We have another show tonight at the Golden Skate in San Ramon, so please come hang out, skate, and vote for Go Kart Mozart. It's been a very, very busy few weeks for us, trying to get the album done in time for the CD release show on August 10th. We finished all the lead vocals this week, and we are currently working on some background vocals, keyboard and percussion, and Kevin also has some guitar to track. We are getting very, very near the the finish, and we cannot wait for the album release party at Cue Productions (August 10th) and The Shop (August 11th). We are only a little bit short of being able to afford to press 1000 CDs, so please help us out by buying our merch (shirts, buttons, or *NEW* guitar picks) either at any show, or through this website. Every little bit helps!

05-25-07

Well hello there, friends. Let us just being by saying thanks for stopping by - it's awesome that you remember how to get to a website other than MySpace.com. May has been extremely busy for Go Kart Mozart. We have had 6 shows so far this month, and we still have 2 more to go! In the midst of all these shows, we are also recording our first full-length album. The recording process has been long and hard so far, but we have made a great deal of progress. All the drums, bass, and vince's guitar are done - we still have some of kevin's guitar, vocals, percussion and keys to track. We've been keeping a recording blog on our MySpace, so if you want the latest updates, please check there. There are also photos from the sessions up on MySpace and Photobucket (follow the "media" then "photos" links on this page). We ended up finishing 6th on the voting for the Warped Tour Battle of the Bands, so there is a decent chance they will pick us to play at Warped Tour in Boise, Idaho this August. We'll let you know as soon as the 4 winners are announced. Don't miss our big ACOUSTIC show at Cue Productions next weekend, June 1st. We have had a great response to the 2 acoustic sets we played so far, so please come check us out, acoustic style. See you on there!

05-01-07

What an awesome weekend! We played 3 shows last week: KDVC Radio Riot on Thursday, the Shop on Friday, and the Golden Skate on Saturday. All 3 were fun in their own way. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to any of these shows. We were excited to have our guitarist, Kevin, at the Friday and Saturday shows. Next time you see Kevin, give him a big hug and tell him you're glad he's back! A special thanks to those who voted for us at the Golden Skate on Saturday - we won the first round of the battle, which means we advance to the finals (on June 9th). We have a whole bunch of shows coming up in May. We are also still in the process of recording our first full-length album. We have finished drums, bass, and most of the guitar. There's a detailed recording blog on our MySpace, updated regularly with photos and news about our recording. It's sounding great so far, and we are very excited for everyone to hear it! Once again: please, please, please vote for us at battleofthebands.com. We are trying to play at Warped Tour in Boise, Idaho and we can't do it without your help! You can vote until May 19th, so please vote early and often. One vote per email address. Thanks for the support, see y'all soon!

04-18-07

It's been a busy few weeks here at the Go Kart Mozart factory. Not only did we had a bunch of awesome shows at Red House, Time Out and Cue Productions, but we also recently began recording 13 songs for our new album! We recorded all the drum tracks a week and a half ago at Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church (thanks to Pat and the whole crew there for letting us use the Sanctuary). The bass tracks are also done - all were recorded at our studio in Martinez. This week we began recording guitar, but we still have a loooong way to go on that. For photos from the recording session, see the photos section of this page (under "media"). There is also a detailed recording blog on our MySpace, so be sure to check that if you are curious about our progress, or about all the funny things that happen to us during the sessions. A special thanks to everyone who came to our acoustic show at Cue Productions last Saturday. That show was the first in a series of 2 very special acoustic events we are promoting with our production company, Smiling Politely Presents. The 2nd show will be held at on June 1st, also at Cue Productions (see the "shows" section for details). We have a bunch of shows coming up in the rest of April and throughout May, so please come out and support us so we can afford to press our album. Right now we are looking at a release date in August, although that is very tentative, depending on our progress over the next few weeks.

04-01-07

Our sincere apologies to everyone who has supported us over the past few months but unfortunately, due to personal conflicts, Go Kart Mozart is no more. We have shared some great times and we hope that we have in some way had a positive impact on your life...APRIL FOOLS! Go Kart Mozart is NOT breaking up. We have TONS of upcoming shows listed on our calendar, and we are going to begin recording our first album next week. We have signed up for the battle of the bands to play at Warped Tour this summer, so please go vote for us at http://www.battleofthebands.com/gokartmozart. Happy belated Pi Day and St. Patrick's Day! I hope you all drank plenty of green beer this year. We just uploaded the text of our very first press clip onto the "press" section of the webpage (under "media"). The article was written by Travis Bill and published in last Friday's edition of The Page, from Las Lomas High School. The article is also available on our blog on MySpace. We have tons of upcoming shows, including THIS SATURDAY - the battle of the bands finals at The Golden Skate in San Ramon. Check the shows section for more details and info on this and other shows. We have a very special ACOUSTIC show on April 14th. This show is being promoted by our production company, Smiling Politely Presents, so please come support us and the local music scene. We have just begun the recording process for our album, but we still have tons more work to do. Details on the release date and CD release show will be announced soon. We are tentatively aiming for sometime this summer.

We just uploaded a brand spankin' new demo of "I Want Love" onto our MySpace profile! The track was recorded in January at Red House Studios in Walnut Creek. We'd like to thank Raja, Dustin and everyone at Red House for helping us out. This track is available both on our MySpace profie (www.myspace.com/gokartmozartmusic) and on the Red House Radio Podcast, Episode #7. The podcast features not only "I Want Love," but also an exclusive Go Kart Mozart interview! Listen to and/or download the podcast here. Or, even better, follow this link to hear our song/interview, and subscribe to the Red House Radio Podcast - an awesome show featuring local up and coming artists. We have been very busy writing songs and playing shows over the past few weeks, and we have plans to begin recording our first full-length album very soon. We also just launched Go Kart Mozart: the mailing list, so if you would like to subscribe to receive occasional updates on GKM haps, please send an email to anna@kidmoe.net. Check out our rad upcoming shows for March, April and May! Also, take a peek at the photos section (under "media") for some sweet flyers and pics from recent shows.

Happy Valentine's Day! We would like to take the oppertunity that this love-filled day presents to remind each and every one who reads this how much you mean to us. Your support is our motivation and insipration, and we are nothing without you. OK, that's enough cheesiness for now, but seriously, you all rock and we love you. We got added onto a show at Blake's last night, thanks to all who came out at the last minute to support us. We debuted a new song that we are very excited about, "Only 1/2 of what I Say is Lies." This is one of the (at least) 2 new songs that we will play at our shows next weekend. The most exciting new of the day, however, is that we will begin recording a FULL LENGTH ALBUM within the next few weeks! We hope for this album to be released this Summer, and we are tentatively planning a tour for sometime in the Fall of 2007. This is all very, very exciting for us, but we are going to need your support more than ever in order to make it happen, so please, please come to a show and by some merch in the coming months! We thank you in advance...

We apologize for the lack of shows in the past few weeks. Do not worry! The Go Kart Mozart factory is still up and running strong. We have been busy practicing several new originals and covers, and we cannot wait to play them for you all very soon. Unfortunately, GKM will only be at 75% strength until late April, as Kevin is on an inter-planetary mission and will be absent from all shows until late April. We finished our demo for "I Want Love" at Red House a couple weeks ago. The song will be released on the Red House Radio Podcast very soon, along with a super cool interview from Vince, Shane and Kevin. Don't miss it! Our next show will be Februray 23rd at ye olde Shop. We can't wait! If you are not up to making the drive out to Sonoma, check us out the next night (February 24th) at the Golden Skate in San Ramon. We will begin recording our first album in the coming months, so sit tight for more exciting news about that!

Wow, what can we say?! 3 weekends, 3 amazing shows! Thanks so much to everyone who made it out to any or all of our past 3 shows. We do not have any shows until February, so we plan to spend the next few weeks writing, practicing, and perparing for our upcoming shows and (hopefully) recordings. Last week Red House in Walnut Creek was kind enough to record a demo of our song, "I Want Love." The song will first be released on the Red House Radio Podcast (along with an exclusive Go Kart Mozart interview), then eventually on our MySpace. Please stay tuned for all the details. Photos from the Shop show are up on our Photobucket (click the "photos" section on this webpage). Video clips from the past few shows will be up on MySpace or YouTube very soon. See y'all in February!

Happy 2007! Thanks to everyone who came out to our first show at Cue Productions. It's wonderful to see so many familiar faces again. We can't even begin to say how excited we are for this Saturday's show at the Shop in Sonoma! The Shop show will also be the debut of our brand new t-shirts that just arrived yesterday (featuring the GKM logo in yellow on black and white on blue). We want to record and release an album for you all as soon as possible, but we are going to need a lot of support at our next few show in order to make it possible. Please come out to a show and buy a shirt or some buttons or both. After the show in Sonoma, we have a couple more local East Bay shows, so there will be pleanty oppertunities for you all to come out and show your support! Thank you to all for making our first show great, we look forward to many, many more...
